Let's give this a shot...

So, J.D. will be 2 on March 12th and I have been saying all this time that I should create a blog for him. I want all of our friends and family to share in all the daily, weekly, or monthly "adventures", to say the least, of our amazing little boy. Better late than not at all, right?

All is well in the daycare world...finally. J.D. and his best friend, Carly, moved into the "Chunky Monkey's" classroom about 4 weeks ago. To put it mildly, the transition didn't go as well as we would've hoped because J.D. was getting bit about twice a week. He quickly learned to say "NO BITE" or "BITE MEAN" to the little biter. Now that his little biting friend has moved on to the next room and fresh meat he seems to be having better days. Now the teachers can focus more on fun and learning activities with the kids instead of having to watch one child so closely. Sounds easy enough, right? Wrong! Now that the biter has moved on to fresh meat, the bad habits of the other kids, including J.D., are coming to light fairly quickly. It seems that spitting during lunch and saying "NO" and running away when asked to do something are the new rebelious acts of our sweet little toddlers. I've been told that J.D. doesn't start these unruly activities, but gladly participates. Now, if we could just get him to stop hanging out with the trouble makers. That's ok...one day he won't just be a rebelious toddler, but rather a rebelious teenager! It'll be here before we know it!!
With that said, we are in the process of planning his 2nd birthday party. We've decided to go with the Elmo theme as he "loves his Elmo". It's crazy when the birthday boy doesn't even care much for cake. Fruit will be what he's most excited about...other than gifts anyway. I know he'll be tickled pink that his BFF, Carly, will be there. They're like two peas in a pod OR double trouble, however you want to look at it. They are 6 days apart and have been together since they were @ 2 months old. He's such a gentelman and protects her when he can at daycare. She's "his Carly". So, not only will this a celebration of his birthday, it will really be one for hers as well.
